John Williams wants to continue composing for films despite announcing retirement earlier- Cinema express

We had earlier reported that legendary film music composer John Williams will be retiring from composing for films. He had publicly announced the upcoming Harrison Ford film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. He had also recently composed for the recently released Steven Spielberg semi-autobiographical The Fabelmans.

According to new reports, it has been learned that the composer is rethinking his decision to retire. Williams recently sat down with Steven Spielberg at a special event to honour the fifty-year collaboration between John Williams and Spielberg. In the event, he revealed that he is not planning to retire after all. He said, “I’ll stick around for a while. I can’t retire from music. A day without music is a mistake.”

John Williams cited his friend and long-time collaborator Steven Spielberg as his reason to backtrack from his decision to retire.

He has composed for some of the most popular franchises like Harry Potter, Jaws, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and The Indiana Jones franchise.
